New Beginnings

The enemy will not come after your life. To all those of you who are Christians, he is not going to come after your salvation. Salvation is based on what He has done and not what we do, so your salvation is secure in Christ. What the enemy will go after is your potential: your potential to influence your family, your potential to change things that are around you.

Jesus says, “You are the salt of the earth.” Notice that He didn’t say Christians would be the majority of the earth; He said that we would be the salt. Then He says to make sure that the salt does not lose its savor. Just make sure you do not lose your savor, because then you can change things.

The savor of salt is its potential to change or influence its environment. The Lord is saying the same thing to us: “I will put within you the ability to make a difference, to change things, to influence things. And that hope that is within you cannot be stolen. That is a gift. Do not let the devil take that away.”

One of the greatest gifts God has given to you is your potential. Protect that potential. Never let that be taken away.

God’s Plans for You

“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope’” (Jer. 29:11).

God has put enough in you to do everything He has called you to do. That is potential!

He has put that eternal plan in your heart. He put potential in our heart but we can squander it or we can steward it. When He puts potential in powder form, He allows us to partner with Him by choice. God wants relationships with people who understand that there is something inside of us that has been place in us eternally. The Spirit of God will guide us so that our potential unfolds until we come to God’s best.

  1. What You are is a Gift from God and What You Make of Yourself is Your Gift to God

Your potential is in kit form so as you live your life, you have to steward it. You have to hear God.

That is why the Holy Spirit is so crucial in your life. In John 16, He says, “I will give you the Spirit of God Who will guide you into all truth.” He will lead you in different ways. He will be speaking to you and you will sense it in your spirit.

The Greatest Enemy of Our Soul is not Destruction; it is Distraction

When the enemy can distract you, the potential of a God-preferred future is stolen. God has given all the potential you need to become all that He created you to be in powder form. But the enemy is going to come and not necessarily destroy you; He is going to distract you.

God gives you a promise — He said, “I have come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly.” But the enemy tries to distract us by causing off to veer off God’s path and expending our potential.

If you had stayed on that straight and narrow path and followed God because He knows what is best for you—this is called obedience—you would have plenty of energy leftover. He designed you. All the energy you expended is what the enemy wanted you to do!

  1. In Order to be All We Can Be, We Will Require … New Beginnings

Every single one of us will require new beginnings because we have to come back to that pathway. The enemy is going to keep trying to steal it from us.

God is going to give us new beginnings. But it is going to require two actions:

Repent and Return

Repentance means you have to come to your senses and change your mind. Repentance is one thing but now you have to return. Those two things go in tandem. Do not wait until you get all the way to the end before you change your mind.

  1. New Beginnings Must Start Today

“Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the day of salvation’” (2 Cor. 6:2b).

Do not wait until it is too late; you will lose it all. So many of us wait until we lose the job, the wife, the house, everything. You do not have to wait that long. Start now.

Jesus is extending His hand to you, saying, “Come, follow Me.”

That is called a new beginning. It is going to require your choice to say, “Yes, Lord, I do need a second chance. Lord, I am willing. Will you guide me?” He wants relationships.

If you ask Him, then He gives to you a more wonderful gift. It is called a gift of mercy, salvation, eternal life. Please take this opportunity to say “yes” to His invitation to follow Him.
